RHCSA Exam Objectives: Boot, Reboot, and Shut Down a System Normally
In this lesson we are going to learn how to boot, reboot, and shutdown the Red Hat Enterprise 7 system (RHEL)
– To restart the system, run one of the followings commands:
# reboot # systemctl reboot # shutdown -r now # init 6 # telinit 6
– To shut down the system, type one of the following commands:
# halt # systemctl halt # shutdown -h now # init 0 # telinit 0
– To power off the system, choose one of the following commands:
# poweroff # systemctl poweroff # systemctl --no -wall poweroff
– To suspend the system, type the following command:
# systemctl suspend
– To hibernate the system, type:
# systemctl hibernate
– To hibernate and suspend the system, run the following command:
# systemctl hybrid-sleep
